We have been running craft stalls and day schools since 2006.

18th April 2013

Wendy and Linda ran a 'Hot Craft Dabble Day' for Avon WI.  All the crafts covered needed heat to make them work.  Everyone made a Gelatine Flower and the other dabbles available were Pyrography, Enamelling and Friendly Plastic.

18th April 2012

Wendy ran 2 one day workshops in Keynsham and teaching how to make an Etui box.

 8th & 9th April 2011

Lydstep Pembrokeshire

It was a lovely sunny weekend, if a bit windy on Saturday - hence the strange angle of the gazebo.  It was lovely chatting to the other stall holders and the 2 afternoon sales resulted in £105.75 going to the charity of the day Christian Lewis Trust for Children with Cancer.

15th March

Wendy, Linda and Gladys ran a day workshop in Almonsbury and taught 14 ladies how to make a 3 drawer trinket box.

A very busy day but everyone managed to produce a finished box.

 21st September 2010

Wendy and Linda ran a day school for 13 ladies making a selection of Christmas tree decorations.

Everyone went home having experienced a variety of decorations to make.  Some quick using simple folding techniques, others taking longer and involving some sewing.

12th May

Pembrokeshire WI County Round

Gladys & Linda manned a stall at the first round of the Royal Welsh Competition 2010. The theme was "Victoriana" and was held at Rudbaxton Hall, Crundale.

The day was well attended by members and the results of the Rosebowl Competition were:

1st Boncath
2nd Summerhill
3rd Eglwswrw

Eglwswrw won the Brecon Cup for their flower display.

8th May

Chipping Sodbury Town Hall

Linda and Wendy had a lovely day in Chipping Sodbury Town Hall.  Lots of friendly crafters selling their wares.  We received positive comments about our boxes and teddies.  Linda's Etui boxes were particulary admired.  We sat and stitched for 4 hours and one of Linda's earring boxes sold as soon as it was finished.  We just about covered our costs on this one.

23rd February

WI House Pembroke

We demonstrated how to make the hospital bags to 2 groups of ladies, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.  Some of each group stayed on to make the bags while others took away the instructions and kits to make the bags.  When the kits are returned we will have sufficient bags to supply the hospital for 5 months.  A very successful day and many thanks to everyone who took the time to come along.  We expect to hold another workshop in May.

16th December 2009

Pembroke Town Hall

It was a bitterly cold day & we arrived to find the heating broken down.  We set up anyway & settled down with a hot cup of tea to wait for the customers to arrive.  A slow stream of people came in out of the cold, found a freezing hall & rapidly departed again.  We enjoyed each others company & took advantage of a slow day to do some shopping ourselves.

This time the Buzy Bees were on the receiving end of the training!  As usual an excellent course.  The tutor was Sheila Gunson and we covered Glass Painting, Iris Folding, Decoupage and Pyrography.

Pyrography is definitely something the Buzy Bees will be doing more of.

Craft Sale in aid of Asfordby School Playground Appeal

We woke up to overcast skies that rapidly turned into a lovely sunny morning.  Arriving at the school at 9 we were set up and ready by 10 when the first customers arrived.  The event was to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the school and pupils current and past turned up to support it.  Thanks to them 4 Buzy Bees raised £41 and donated it towards the days fund raising event - upgrading the playground facilities

11th May

Drawer Box Workshop

It was a gloriously sunny May morning and the beautiful views around Blagdon were at their best.

7 ladies gathered together at 10am to make drawer boxes and very industrious they were too.  Ignoring the lovely day we set to with glue, card and fabric and 6 hours later we had 7 very different boxes.

A very enjoyable day - many thanks for your company and for the excellent lunch
